The great events in the area
Collisioni – July
The AgriRock Festival made in Langhe, which started out quietly over ten years ago, with the aim of bringing literary and musical culture to our hills with talk shows and intellectual interviews (all free of charge), has now become one of the most renowned festivals in the world, enriching summer in the Langhe hills with concerts that would never have been thought possible in such a small place!
It’s amazing to think that Barolo is now one of the Italian legs of the tours of stars such as Patti Smith, Elton John, Bob Dylan, Mika, Robbie Williams, Steven Tyler, Offspring, Thirty Seconds to Mars… with more and more exciting surprises arriving every year!
Cheese and Salone del Gusto – September/October
Two renowned events organised by Slow Food alternate each year in September/October and promote the body and soul, the very essence of this international association, which we quote directly: “Giving food the right value, respecting those who produce it, in harmony with the environment and ecosystems, thanks to the knowledge of which local territories and traditions are guardians.”
Cheese takes place in the elegant town of Bra, where the spotlight shines on all forms of milk produced by artisan cheese makers from all over the world.
The Salone del Gusto – Terramadre fills historical Turin with the biggest international event dedicated to food: producers from all over the world, chefs and influential personalities are the protagonists of a packed calendar of events, with markets, educational activities and conferences.
International Alba White Truffle Show – October and November
Undoubtedly the most important event of the autumn season in the Langhe: it has made our hills a destination for gastronomes, foodies, gourmets and those with a taste for the best from all over the world. It has promoted the Tuber Magnatum Pico to the point of making it the driving force behind the local tourist economy, transforming the binomial Barolo and Truffle into the luxurious business card that Piedmont can use to present itself as the destination for fine food and wine at a global level.
If you haven’t participated yet, the time has come to do so (every weekend in October and November)!
It needs no further introduction, so why not browse the dedicated website to find out more.
